Cash Isa provider NS&I lauds inflation-beating certificates

A savings option from NS&I will ensure people's capital stays ahead of rising prices, according to the company.

The firm highlighted how individuals could be staying ahead of the curve with index-linked savings certificates, which closed to new applicants on July 19th 2010.

Current customers can check how much their product is worth by visiting the firm's official website and using the tailor-made calculator.

NS&I stressed that even though no new applicants can be accepted for this product, existing clients can reinvest in the most recent issues of the financial tool.

If people want to take advantage of this proposal, they can opt to put their money into issue 47 of the five-year edition or issue 20 of the three-year alternative, both of which are offering one per cent on top of the retail prices index figure.

The firm explained how index-linked savings certificates are designed to be held for fixed terms and are lump sum investments.

This month, NS&I revealed its premium bond millionaire for September was a lady living in the Scottish region of Grampian.
