Aviva urges insurance for young drivers customers to plan trip to uni

Young people should be sure they plan their trip before they hit the road, according to insurance provider Aviva.

This is just one of a series of tips the company offered individuals who are about start a new course in an educational establishment away from their homes.

"Many universities are located within towns and cities and these are renowned for having tricky one-way systems and buses-only lanes," noted the firm.

Among the other recommendations the organisation made were to organise a parking space in advance, buy their insurance policy online and look out for 'rapid-bonus schemes', which allow motorists to earn 12 months no-claims in a shorter period of time.

The protection provider pointed out that these tips could help students finish up with more money in their pockets to spend on food and other essentials.

Recent research by Endsleigh Insurance showed 72 per cent of students use the internet to keep in touch with their family.
