MBNA products could be used for credit card debt consolidation

Consumers looking to transfer their credit card balances to a new account may be interested in two new propositions from MBNA.

The Balance Transfer and Dual credit cards were launched on Thursday September 23rd and have been lauded by Will Curley, product executive for Bank of America Europe Card Services, the company that owns MBNA.

He explained the firm is always seeking to offer value and simplicity to its customers and highlighted how people can fill up 95 per cent of their balance once they are approved for these products.

The Balance Transfer account offers individuals zero per cent interest on such transactions for 16 months, while the Dual card features 12 months of interest-free balance transfer and purchase activity.

Mr Curley added: "We are one of only a handful of UK lenders who already allocate our customers' repayments to their highest interest-bearing balances first."

Recently, the same company announced its customers can activate their credit cards online.
