Sainsbury's Finance highlights importance of travel insurance

The institution warned travellers that 5.1 million Brits had been the victim of theft while abroad over the past five years.
On average, the financial institution estimated that £326 worth of property was taken from each of the unfortunate tourists.
The most commonly taken item was cash, affecting 35 per cent of victims, while 28 per cent stated that they had lost their entire wallet to thieves.
Scott Gorman, travel insurance manager with the company, said: "Before you leave your residency, take time to think if you really need to take each item with you and consider investing in a money belt."
Consumers looking to take out insurance with Sainsbury's have until today (October 4th 2010) to receive a £50 shopping voucher for doing so on their buildings and contents cover.
