Do not put up with bad current account interest rates, urges uSwitch.com expert

People do not have to deal with low interest rates or poor service from their current account provider, an expert from uSwitch.com has opined.

According to personal finance expert at the firm Stefan Maryniak, it is not just a better banking experience that people may be missing out on, but some impressive incentives as well.

He highlighted the £100 switching bonus being offered by Santander as an example of the sort of options that exist on the market.

But Mr Maryniak stressed that people should consider the whole proposition offered by a new provider - not just the perks - in order to decide where they should keep their money.

"We won't put [up] with bad service or a poor deal in other areas of our lives, so why do we do it with our banks?" asked the uSwitch.com spokesperson.

The British Bankers' Association recently stated that financial institutions are committed to making it as easy as possible for consumers to change current account providers.
