Nationwide fixed rate bonds 'vary for differing needs'

There are different Nationwide fixed rate bonds available that will suit savers in distinct circumstances, a source from the firm has stated.

Robin Bailey, director of savings at the company, pointed out that the term can vary from one to five years and the returns differ on each product.

In his opinion, this is very important in the current climate, as people try to make the most of their cash.

Mr Bailey's comments were made after Nationwide announced it had upped the interest rate on several of its fixed rate bonds and Isas.

"Nationwide's interest rate increase on these products is good news for savers who are looking to maximise the return on their money," he remarked.

Last month, the company highlighted how it had altered the bonus end date on its Champion Saver Account for anyone who signed up for the proposition after November 1st 2010.

The new expiry date is January 31st 2012.
