Aegon SLI 'offers guarantees' to pensions calculator clients

A source from Aegon has lauded the company's secure life income (SLI) product and suggested the prospect of guaranteed income on retirement appeals to many investors.

Gordon Greig, head of individual marketing at the financial services provider, highlighted low interest rates and the volatility of the stock market as reasons why consumers may be more interested in getting a minimum return on their savings.

He claimed the Aegon SLI offers control over how capital is used and this is now more attractive to clients than ever.

These remarks were made after the business announced it had introduced a guaranteed minimum addition of 3.25 per cent of their capital annually, regardless of how well the investment had performed during the period.

"The product feature enhancements we are making to Aegon SLI make it one of the most competitive unit-linked guarantee products in the market today," said Mr Greig.

Last month, Aegon revealed it had agreed the sale of its third party pensions administration division to Goddard Perry.
