Yorkshire Building Society fixed rate bond 'offers excellent return'

A Yorkshire Building Society representative has lauded a new fixed rate bond, which offers clients four per cent gross interest over three years.

Sarah Lawrence, senior savings product manager at the company, suggested the proposition is "perfect" for consumers keen to get a competitive return on their cash.

She said: "Offering a fixed rate of four per cent is excellent value for money, particularly during the current financial climate."

The Yorkshire Building Society three-year fixed rate bond is being launched on Wednesday (December 8th), with the product available in-branch, by phone and online, according to Ms Lawrence.

In her view, there will be plenty of consumers keen to sign up for the savings tool, which requires a minimum balance of £1,000.

Last week, the company highlighted how its share plan clients won several accolades at the recent ifsProshare Awards, including best new share plan, most effective communication of an employee share plan and best overall performance in fostering employee share ownership.
