Moneymagpie.com happy to hear debt relief discussion

The founder of Moneymagpie.com has claimed it is a good thing that people are talking about their financial concerns.

Jasmine Birtles suggested one of the main contributing factors has been the credit crunch, with the comprehensive spending review also stoking the public's desire to discuss debt.

She noted that even the middle classes are more open to talking about their money problems and observed that the recent austerity measures have made individuals feel like they are all living through the problems together.

"I have been talking debt for 15 years now, but people like me talking about debt is nothing different at all. Consumers talking about debt ... is different," added Ms Birtles.

The Moneymagpie.com representative stressed she is glad consumers are speaking about their money worries.

Her comments were made in response to new research by business recovery organisation R3, which indicated that 38 per cent of Brits find it hard to get to their next paycheck with money left in their bank accounts.
