Richard Rowney, life and pensions managing director at the company, made his comments regarding the upcoming regulation amendment that will mean people do not need to buy an annuity by the time they reach 75.
In his opinion, the change will mean greater flexibility for savers, adding: "Scrapping the requirement to annuitise by age 75 has removed a barrier that is cited by many as a disincentive for people to save into a pension."
The LV= spokesperson also highlighted how the company will be ready to offer capped drawdown when the April 6th 2011 start date comes around.
Recent research by the firm suggested older people are currently enjoying themselves a great deal, with over-60s feeling physically fitter, happier and more financially secure than any other demographic.
Head of pensions at the organisation Ray Chinn observed that it seems life begins at 60 for this generation of adults.
