Clydesdale Bank notes potential demand for remortgage deals

New research by Clydesdale Bank suggests many UK homeowners are planning to move house in 2011 and a representative from the lender has described the trend as "encouraging".

Steve Reid, retail director at the firm, explained that many people have been putting off a move over the past couple of years due to the state of the housing market.

But he noted that this builds up potential demand and a poll by Clydesdale Bank indicates 2011 could be a turning point for a significant proportion of individuals.

The study showed 30 per cent of Brits intend on finding a new house this year.

"It is greatly encouraging for the property market that more people are clearly keen to move but, of course, there is still natural caution in the market," added Mr Reid.

Last month, the firm announced its Signature customers can enjoy £500 off their fees on a variety of home finance deals until February 27th 2011.
