Age UK gives advice on applying for holiday insurance in later life

Age UK has advised people in later life to be honest when applying for travel insurance.

The charity has urged older people to be truthful when taking out the policy to ensure they are able to relax without worry when enjoying their holiday.

This comes after a survey by consumer watchdog Which? that revealed the difficulties older people face when attempting to take out insurance.

Managing director of Age UK Enterprises Gordon Morris urged people to shop around for the best policy when looking for insurance deals.

He said: "It is essential to be completely transparent when purchasing a policy, advising your provider of any medical conditions."

Age UK was voted the charity of the year at the recently held Dods Charity Champions Awards at the Palace of Westminster.

Recognising charities for taking part in campaigning work in parliament, the accolade is voted for by members of the House of Commons and the House of Lords.
