Halifax Insurance launches initiative for homeowners

Residents looking to protect their belongings by taking out home insurance could be interested in a new deal from Halifax.

The provider has announced plans to re-launch its Free Day for Life scheme, which offers customers one cost free day of cover per week for life.

In addition, the company has pledged to give a £50 cheque to every person who takes out a new buildings and contents policy.

Available until July 22nd, the new scheme is the equivalent to a 14.3 per cent discount for families looking to ensure their household items are safe.

Lindsay Forster, the company's marketing director, said: "As well as these rewards, Halifax Home Insurance offers comprehensive protection and great value; including unlimited sum insured buildings and contents cover, no claims discount and UK-only based call centres."

Recent research conducted by Halifax Home Insurance's mortgage lender arm revealed that one in three people predict an increase to UK house prices in 2011.
