Allianz urges parents to protect baby equipment in cars

Parents who leave expensive baby equipment in their car overnight have been issued with an urgent warning by Allianz.

As part of recent research, the insurance company's Your Cover department has revealed that couples leave items worth up to £500 outside, which could result in theft.

Statistics showed that 66 per cent of parents regularly left their pushchair in their family vehicle during the night, despite the high cost of the product.

In addition, more than half of British drivers confessed to forgetting to ensure their car was securely locked before retiring to bed.

Spokesman for Your Cover Andy James said: "Parents are very good at making sure they have all the essentials to cater for travelling with young children but they also need to be mindful of car security too."

Last year, Allianz conducted research which revealed that the majority of UK residents had failed to take precautions to protect their homes through winter months.
