Santander launches new fixed rate bank account

Individuals looking to change their account provider could be interested in a new fixed-rate banking product from Santander.

Launched on Monday (July 4th) the innovative deal allows new or existing customers to take advantage of a five per cent annual equivalent rate.

Designed to encourage members of the public to put money into savings regularly, the highly-competitive account offers a fixed rate for a 12-month period.

Prospective customers have been urged to visit their local Santander branch to find out more information about the new product.

Reza Attar-Zadeh, the company's director of savings and investments, said: "This offer continues to cement our approach to rewarding loyalty, so that the more business you do with us, the more benefits you will receive."

Santander has also announced the launch of a new range of structured banking products, which aim to cater to individuals looking to invest over a long-term period.

As part of the new offers, customers can receive greater returns than people with standard savings accounts.
