Halifax reduces rates on range of mortgage deals

Prospective homeowners worried about the cost of mortgage repayments could be interested in a new offer from Halifax.

On Friday (July 8th), the lender announced plans to reduce rates across its range of two, three and four-year fixed-rate products by up to 0.35 per cent.

Highlighting its dedication to providing financial piece of mind to borrowers, the mortgage company is currently offering its lowest deal so far this year, with payments at 2.79 per cent.

In addition, prospective remortgage applicants could take advantage of a three-year fixed-rate product reduced by 0.1 per cent to 3.64 per cent at zero to 60 per cent loan to value.

"These changes are part of a raft of improvements and reductions already this year, which will provide a much wider choice for those looking for a great deal," remarked Stephen Noakes, the company's commercial director of mortgages.

As part of new research, Halifax's banking arm recently announced that children from Harpenden, Hertfordshire had the highest average savings in the UK.
