Aviva speeds up life insurance procedure

Older individuals looking to protect their loved ones by acquiring life insurance could benefit from changes to Aviva's operations.

Starting today (July 15th), the insurance company is set to simplify the application process in order to make it quicker and easier for people to gain access to cover.

As part of the new plans, 95 per cent of decisions will be made within eight hours of questionnaire completion, with all queries answered within one day.

Specially trained nurses will be on hand to ask any additional questions over the telephone in cases where further medical details are required.

Robert Morrison, chief underwriter for Aviva, said: "Getting it right at the beginning means that customers benefit when they need it most - in the event that they need to make a claim."

Earlier this month, Aviva launched an online tool that allows Facebook users to congratulate their friends on healthy lifestyle changes by sending them a virtual cheer.
