Companies 'already benefiting from Nest'

More than 100 UK employers have now signed up for the National Employment Savings Trust (Nest) with Nest Corporation ahead of next year's mandatory introduction for workers.

Feedback from 25 businesses that have already implemented the Nest initiative at this week's showcase event by the company revealed that the scheme is meeting the needs of both employers and workers.

Tim Jones, chief executive of Nest Corporation, said: "The feedback we've received to date has been very good - employers tell us that they like our fresh approach to important issues such as communication and investment."

Robin Ellison, partner at Pinsent Masons, recently noted that Nest will be especially beneficial for individuals on lower incomes when it comes into force for all in 2012.

He added that saving for the future can be more difficult for those with less coming in each month, while shorter life expectancies for this group also reduces the chance of them drawing a pension at all.
