Abbey fixed-rate mortgages unveiled

New Abbey fixed-rate mortgages with both two- and five-year rate options have been unveiled.

Two- and five-year fixed-rate mortgages are now available from Abbey from 4.64 per cent, a reduction of up to 0.45 per cent.

The stepped fixed-rate now starts at 3.69 per cent, a reduction of 0.3 per cent, while the six-month fixed-rate Flexible Plus mortgage is now 4.49 per cent, down 0.05 per cent.

Gary Hockey-Morley, director of mortgages at Abbey, said: "Fixed-rates have been falling for some time and we are making sure that Abbey is offering some of the lowest deals available.

"Our fixed rates are now the lowest they have been since October 2003 but we've also got great deals on tracker, flexible and cashback mortgages."

The new Abbey mortgage deals are available as of June 13th 2005.
