Modern resources 'have helped young people become more savvy'

The introduction of modern financial resources such as internet access and 24-hour banking have helped young people across the UK to become more financially savvy than previous generations, it has been argued.

Phil Perry, director at Ark Financial Planning, said it is easier than ever to tackle money issues via the internet, with the technology having made it easier to research deals, manage accounts and find the best rates.

He noted: "It a lot easier for them to do the research online to check what it is they actually need and find the best rates that are available."

He news follows comments by Keith Churchouse, director of Chapters Financial Limited, who recently claimed that many people have seen their finances stretched to the limit in the present financial climate and therefore, more people are now having to dip into savings pots each month in order to make ends meet.
