New bond offered by Yorkshire Building Society

Yorkshire Building Society has announced the launch of a new 18-month bond for savers hoping to put their money away for the medium term while receiving a healthy return.

It provides an APR of 3.4 per cent and features a minimum deposit of £1,000. However, the product is only available to individuals via the telephone or by going online.

"The rate is best buy and we expect this bond to be as popular as our previous short-term fixed rate savings bonds," commented Yorkshire Building Society savings product manager Mike Helliwell.

He added that this product is an opportunity for savers to receive an excellent return on their investment, without having to lock away their funds for the long-term.

Keith Churchouse, director of Chapters Financial Limited, recently commented that many people are facing significant financial difficulties and this has led to many individuals having to use their savings to make ends meet each month.
