Celebrity couples that look alike

Celebrity couples that look alike

The dizzying merry-go-round of Hollywood romances can be hard to keep up with, despite the reams of paper that are sacrificed every month to keep legal secretaries in Burnley and shop assistants in Ashby-de-la-Zouch abreast with the dating habits of famous actors and actresses.

However, dating expert Christina Bloom recently put forward a convincing suggestion that could make it easier to predict who Ryan Gosling will take out for a romantic meal next.

She told the Huffington Post that people with similar faces are more likely to get and stay together, because of the vaguely-defined pseudo-science that is mutual chemistry.

Arguably, this trend is likely to be even more defined among celebrities, since their intense narcissism and deeply solipsistic world view is probably one of the major drivers behind their career as a professional clothes-horse or actor.

"Right away, you can see it in a photo or you can see it when you meet the person, you can see style. So along with the face and the style, you're pretty much making up your mind within the first few minutes," said Ms Bloom.

Tony Little from the University of Liverpool in England told MSNBC couples that stay together for a long time tend to become more similar facially as the years go on, meaning this theory may not be as far-fetched as it seems.

Here are some celebrities that back up this theory.

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson

The on-again-off-again-on-again-who-cares-anyway couple actually do look eerily similar, although one factor in this could be the fact that they both inspire an intense urge to plunge them repeatedly into a tub and clean them with a big brush.

Ms Bloom cites their "sultry eyes" and similar-shaped lips as factors in their chemistry, and predicts that they will stay together for a long time.

Stewart and Pattinson also share an inability to express emotion using their voices or their facial features, which does mean they are possibly better-suited to going out with each other than anyone else.

George Clooney and Stacey Keibler

While nobody is going to be rash enough to predict that Clooney is planning a long-term relationship with a woman who comes in at roughly number 217 in the list of 'beautiful, famous women who George has dated', the pair do share long faces and tapered chins.

It also seems unlikely that Clooney was attracted to Keibler solely because of her facial similarities to him, given her reputation for having the longest legs in America and her starring role on Dancing with the Stars.

Nevertheless, there's no doubt that the pair make for a terrifyingly attractive couple.

Christina Aguilera and Matt Rutler

Singer Christina Aguilera and new boyfriend Matt Rutler both have wide-set eyes and pointed chins, apparently meaning they are more likely to enjoy a good chemistry than Aguilera's ex Jordan Bratman, who also looks like a person but has slightly different eyes to his former girlfriend.

A recent snap of the pair highlighted their similarities by showing them both in matching blue Mickey Mouse sweats during a visit to Disneyland - Christina got her big break as a child star on The Mickey Mouse Club in 1993 alongside fellow Mouseketeers Ryan Gosling, Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake.

Frankly, the fact that they're willing to wear matching jumpers with cartoon characters on them is a better indication that they're a good couple than the shape of their eyes.

Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone

Star of The Amazing Spider-Man Andrew Garfield met Emma Stone on the cast of the film, where she played his fictional girlfriend Gwen Maxine Stacy.

While Stone was allegedly disappointed to find out that Garfield can't actually fire webs from his hands, cling to walls and fight crime with a combination of super-strength and perfect balance, she soon came around to his charms after noticing that they shared a "wide-eyed look" and "identical" lips and chins.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West

I wasn't completely convinced about the veracity of this theory while writing this blog, but Kanye West and Kim Kardashian really do have similarly massive, dead-eyed faces, as well as "prominent eyes and eyebrows".

Given that Kardashian is a product of reality TV culture and Kanye is known (even in the traditionally self-effacing hip-hop community) for his self-confidence, this makes perfect sense.ADNFCR-323-ID-801535009-ADNFCR
