Yorkshire Building Society motor insurance launched

Yorkshire Building Society has announced its entry into the motor insurance market.

The company is offering a new branded product through its relationship with Royal & SunAlliance.

Available via the internet or telephone, details of the new policy can also be obtained from any Yorkshire Building Society branch office.

The new product offers recommended repairers, with a three year guarantee on all approved work undertaken, a free courtesy car for the duration of the repair, a replacement vehicle if a car is bought from new and is written off in the first 12 months and a hire car for 48 hours if a customer's car is stolen, immobilised or unrecoverable.

Yorkshire Building Society motor insurance also provides customers with a loyalty bonus, an online discount of 7.5 per cent in year one and free European cover for 45 days per annum.

Ian Bullock, general manager of sales and marketing at the Yorkshire, said: "The launch of YBS Motor Insurance is a natural extension to our existing general insurance range. Customers both existing and new, will benefit from a hugely competitive product and should see them making savings from even the most famous direct brands - including the little red telephone!"
