Moneyfacts football affinity savings accounts launched

The Premiership kicks off on August 13th, so what better time for Moneyfacts.co.uk to launch their football affinity savings accounts.

A selection of special accounts give dedicated football fans something extra to their favourite club.

For example, Liverpool and Manchester United account holders get an extra one per cent interest during August and September if their club wins or qualifies for the Champions League respectively.

Others are offering discounts in the club store or a donation to the club's youth development.

Rachel Thrussell, head of savings at moneyfacts.co.uk, said: "Although interest rates on these accounts are not as high as some online savings accounts, most have instant access and pay rates which do compete with other branch-based savings products, especially when the 1% donation to the club is taken into account."
