Evacuation cover included in Saga insurance

Saga has announced that it will be offering evacuation cover to its building insurance customers.

The cover, which is included automatically in the mainstream policy, gives customers a 'standard level of protection'.

So should you find yourself being asked to leave your home on advice from the emergency services, your policy will cover alternative accommodation costs or rent owed or paid out.

Andrew Goodsell, Chief Executive, Saga, explained why such cover is impoprtant: "Our research shows that a primary concern when staying away from home is lack of privacy.

"With this new cover, our customers will have some reassurance that if faced with such a serious situation, any inconvenience will be kept to a minimum."
