Birmingham Midshires fixed rate bonds launched

The latest range of Birmingham Midshires fixed rate bonds has been launched, with a "market leading" rate of 5.05 per cent.

The bonds can be either four or five years in length and have a minimum investment of £1.

This is good news for those wishing to invest small amounts, as over half the bonds in the "best buy tables" require customers to have at least £500.

Richard Brown, head of savings products at Birmingham Midshires, said that the products should prove to be popular with customers.

Furthermore, the products will complement Birmingham Midshires' one year fixed rate savings bond, which was launched earlier this month.
