West Brom savings accounts popular with customers

Following the closure of 48 Birmingham Midshires branches across the West Midlands, ex-customers have been flocking to open up West Brom savings accounts.

Since the closure, the building society has been opening over 30 accounts daily for both savings and mortgages.

In Dudley alone, over 100 accounts have been opened so far by customers left stranded by Birmingham Midshires.

Jeyme Lawley of West Bromwich Building Society, said it offers local people "great value and choice" as well as a "personal service".

Furthermore, Birmingham Midshires has closed over 6,000 branches across the UK since 1990, according to West Brom.
