Alliance & Leicester Premier Switching Service launched

The Alliance & Leicester Premier Switching service incorporates three promises to urge greater numbers to move away from poor current account offers.

Alliance & Leicester's first promise includes no overdraft fees or charges being incurred by the customer on their current account while they are using the new service.

Secondly, the group promises to provide Premier Direct or Premier current account applicants with a minimum overdraft of £250.

Finally, the Alliance & Leicester Premier Switching Service promises to match the overdraft from the customer's previous provider when they change onto one of its deals.

Simon Ripton, current accounts manager at Alliance & Leicester, said: "Customers can switch with confidence in the knowledge that we will match their existing overdraft.

"This will allow them to cover their household bills during switching and because of our market leading zero per cent introductory overdraft rate we won’t charge them any interest."

To set up the Alliance and Leicester Premier Switching Service applicants must fill out two forms that are available through all branches of the society.
