Text for Lloyds TSB chequebook

Lloyds TSB has announced that from today its personal, business banking and corporate customers will be able to order chequebooks by sending the bank a text message.

Those wishing to receive a Lloyds TSB chequebook must send a text saying CHQ to 82332, while those looking for a paying-in book must type PIB.

Both texts must include the customers' account number and sort code following the CHQ or PIB code.

Customers can then expect that their new cheque- or paying-in book will be sent to them within the next four working days.

Matthew Timms, internet and ATM director at Lloyds TSB, said: "With time at a premium we are sure that this new service will prove popular, helping customers to keep on top of those small tasks like ordering a cheque book which can easily fall by the wayside on a busy day."

Other text services from Lloyds TSB include a weekly current account statement that is sent at the customers' time of choice and is free of charge.
