Nationwide guaranteed equity bond launched

A Nationwide guaranteed equity bond is being launched, providing a minimum return on invested capital.

The building society said that a growth of at least ten per cent was guaranteed on the new bond and added that it also offers an early investor bonus in December and January.

Clive Parkinson, managing director of Nationwide Investments, said that a guaranteed equity bond is ideal for people who wish to invest in the stock market but have concerns about the risks involved.

"The Nationwide guarantee equity bond not only offers peace of mind to the investor by providing a capital guarantee but also goes one step further," he said.

He added that the ten per cent minimum guaranteed on the bond means that the return is always more than the original amount invested.

The guaranteed equity bond is linked to three indices that give customers exposure to overseas markets.
