NatWest travellers cheques card launched

A new NatWest travellers cheques card has been launched in time for the Christmas holidays.

The new card, launched by the bank together with American Express and the Royal Bank of Scotland, works like a top up card and can be charged with £3,000 worth of euros or US dollars.

The NatWest travellers cheques card can be used to get cash or buy goods wherever the American Express sign is displayed, the bank said.

Robin Cockburn of the Royal Bank of Scotland called the card "a versatile way for holidaymakers to plan for their trips".

"For example, frequent travellers can load up currency for multiple holidays, or a family can use it to save cash each month towards spending money for their annual break," he said.

The strong British pound has made foreign trips more affordable in recent years, giving Brits 17 per cent more US dollars for their cash compared with four years ago, according to the bank.
