Abbey guaranteed income bond launched

A new Abbey guaranteed income bond has been put on the market.

The bond guarantees a fixed income of 3.8 per cent per annum and a full return on capital if it is held for the full four-year term, the bank said.

This deal follows upon six other guaranteed income bonds already launched by Abbey.

Pak Chan, Abbey's head of investments marketing, said that the Abbey guaranteed income bond "has been incredibly popular this year".

"It provides customers capital security and the certainty of a regular income for the next four years," he added.

Applications to invest a minimum of £5,000 have to be made before January 10th 2006.
