Britannia two-year fixed rate mortgage on market

A new Britannia two-year fixed rate mortgage offer hit the market on Wednesday.

The product comes with a 4.89 per cent initial rate, which also applies to a five-year fixed rate mortgage on the market. A ten-year fixed mortgage at an initial 4.99 per cent is also available.

An administration fee of £100 and an arrangement fee of £399 apply to all three products.

A major benefit of fixed rate mortgages is that they make budgeting more easily since monthly payments stay the same, the company said, adding that variable rates could fall below the fixed rate.

The new Britannia fixed rate mortgage products are available to first-time buyers, homeowners and those who wish to move their mortgage to the lender.
