Leeds Building Society fixed rate mortgage launched

Leeds Building Society has launched a new two-year fixed rate mortgage in a bid to give first-time buyers a helping hand in getting onto the property ladder.

The Leeds Building Society fixed rate mortgage has a rate of 1.89 per cent fixed for the first two years.

It is hoped that it will help customers reduce their outgoings during the early stages of their mortgage, before it changes to a standard variable rate.

"We have specifically designed this product to support customers in the first two years of their mortgage, fixing payments to a minimum and allowing customers to budget," said Karen Wint, head of marketing and PR at the building society.

"This will enable many first-time buyers get a foot on the housing ladder and benefit from any growth in the housing market."

The new Leeds Building Society fixed rate mortgage is available direct and through intermediaries.
