Principality Monthly Saver Account launched

A Principality Monthly Saver Account is now available and could help people "build up a savings pot without breaking the bank", it has been claimed.

The Welsh building society says that the 5.25 per cent gross rate per annum enables people to save as little as £20 per month and could help make their dreams come true.

"Saving regularly doesn't take a lot of effort and if this pattern of paying a little each month into an account is established, lump sums can be built up quite quickly," said Tracy Morshead, managing director of Principality Building Society.

As recent statistics have shown that only 55 per cent of Brits save regularly, a savings habit could be promoted by the new Principality Monthly Saver Account, he added.

Payments into the account are made by standing order and additional payments can also be made by cash, cheque or direct debit.

Principality is the largest building society in Wales and has over 420,000 members.
