Standard Life ethical fund range finds environmental issues key

Ethical investors are most concerned about environmental issues, according to the latest research from Standard Life.

Some 18,000 investors who use the Standard Life ethical fund range were asked their opinion on what issues are most important to them.

The financial services provider found that human rights, clearing of tropical forests and the manufacture and supply of ozone-depleting chemicals were the top-three issues of concern.

Julie McDowell, head of socially responsible investing research at Standard Life, said: "We are the only ethical fund provider to survey its investors on an annual basis and this reflects our commitment to both listening to and being guided by the views of our investors."

The Standard Life ethical fund range, of which there are four separate products, currently invests £308 million in this area.
