Skipton fixed-rate mortgages improved

The new range of Skipton fixed-rate mortgages has been launched, with rates starting from 4.45 per cent.

Mortgages are available with fixed terms of two, three or five years and all come with up to 95 per cent loan to value (LTV).

For those customers looking to remortgage with a Skipton fixed-rate mortgage, free legal fees and valuations are available.

Furthermore, there is free accident, sickness and unemployment cover for all borrowers for the fist six months.

Jennifer Holloway, head of media relations at the building society, said: "We expect to see a lot of interest [in the Skipton fixed-rate mortgages]."

All products come with flexible features such as payment holidays, overpayment facility and daily interest calculations.
