Alliance & Leicester Business Builder account extended

People starting their own business will be offered banking free of charge for two years on the new deal.
They will also be automatically transferred to a free business current account when the initial 24-month period expires.
Alliance & Leicester's changes follow its research into the elements of business accounts that are of most importance to a small to medium sized enterprise (SME).
Its research reported that 35 per cent of SMEs consider free banking the most important feature of an account, regarding it above branch location, credit interest and quality of advice.
Director of business banking at Alliance & Leicester Steve Jennings said: "By extending the free banking period available to start-ups Alliance & Leicester is focusing on what really matters most to businesses – low charges giving them the best start in life."
The Alliance & Leicester Business Builder account is available to firms that have been trading for less than six months and have a turnover of up to £500,000.
