FSA e-learning package launched

Today has seen the launch of an FSA e-learning package intended to offer help to small firms.

The FSA claims that this online course will help business owners with minimal knowledge of accounting in their attempts to meet regulations.

Various projects have been undertaken by the financial watchdog in the past, including the improvement of business newsletters and the introduction of more workshops and training courses.

Retail intermediaries sector leader with the FSA Stephen Bland said: "We have made a good start but there is still work to be done. The e-learning package is a new way of offering assistance to firms and may offer extra support to those that need it."

The launch of this new initiative follows research conducted by the FSA into how small firms receive business information.

Results of the research claim that 82 per cent of firms receive FSA newsletters, 62 per cent accessed specific websites at least once every two weeks and 96 per cent were aware of FSA training schemes.

Details of the FSA e-learning package can be found on the organisation's website.
