Nationwide International US Dollar Savings account changed

The Nationwide International US Dollar Savings account has seen a rate increase of 0.25 per cent.

New rates will now range from 4.05 per cent to 4.65 per cent gross per year.

This change was made in response to an increase in the US Federal Reserve Funds rate and Nationwide International claims that by matching this change it will now offer one of the best returns on the market.

A minimum balance of $1,000 (£574) is required to initiate the account and a maximum rate of 4.65 per cent will be offered on balances of $100,000 and beyond.

Penalty-free access to funds is also granted and deposits can be made by cheque or electronically.

Managing director of Nationwide International Carl Gandy said: "The new rates on our US Dollar account illustrate our commitment to providing our customers with an excellent deal."

The changes to the Nationwide International US Dollar Savings account will be effective as of February 13th 2006.
