Leeds Building Society Fixed Selection Bond announced

The launch of the Leeds Building Society Fixed Selection Bond has been made today, with the three-year deal offering a fixed interest rate of 5.05 per cent until April 1st 2009.

A minimum balance of £100 is required to open the account and individual customers are allowed to invest a maximum of £250,000 – double this amount is permitted for joint customers.

The two-year package has a fixed rate of 4.85 per cent until April 1st 2008 and interest on the one-year option will remain at 4.7 per cent until the same date next year.

Penalty-free withdrawals of up to 25 per cent of the initial investment are allowed on the two and three-year deals, but no such allowance is made on the single year offer.

Product development manager at Leeds Stuart Fearn said: "We have specifically designed this product to offer customers a fantastic rate and a choice of term and access, so more customers can open an account that suits their needs."

Interest on the Leeds Building Society Fixed Selection Bond will be paid annually on April 1st.
