Royal Bank of Scotland Tracker Mortgage launched

A new Royal Bank of Scotland Tracker Mortgage has been launched today which will track at a level of 0.19 per cent above the Bank of England base rate.

This means that the offer will begin with an interest level of 4.69 per cent.

The base rate will be tracked until April 1st 2008, at which point the bank's standard variable rate, currently 6.59 per cent, will take effect.

Introduction of the new package comes at the same time as a rugby-themed special offer as the Royal Bank of Scotland sponsors the Six Nations tournament.

The promotion gives customers the chance to win £150,000 towards their mortgage if they can kick a successful conversion at Murrayfield, Scotland's national rugby ground.

RBS head of mortgages Jeremy Sutton said: "The combination of our low rate tracker mortgage and chance to win up to £150,000 off your mortgage means there's never been a better time to speak to RBS about your mortgage needs."

The Royal Bank of Scotland Tracker Mortgage has a loan to value level of 75 per cent and charges an arrangement fee of £495.

Applications for the deal must be received by April 5th 2006.
