Pensions Regulator Trustee Toolkit launched

The Pensions Regulator Trustee Toolkit has been introduced today – an e-learning package that offers free advice on pensions and helps trustees meet requirements.

Statutory regulations were set out in the Pensions Act of 2004 insisting that trustees were aware of the principles relating to the funding of schemes and the investment of assets.

There are two initial units of the course currently available, dealing with trustees' awareness of their responsibilities when it comes to the law governing pensions and trusts – another requirement set out by the Pensions Act.

Experts in pensions and online learning designed the package with the intention of it being both interesting and accurate by basing it on studies of real cases.

Head of regulated community learning at the Pensions Regulator April Alexander said: "The toolkit has been specifically developed to meet the needs of busy trustees of all levels – it can be accessed where and when they wish."

The Pensions Regulator Trustee Toolkit scheme has been targeted specifically at trustees but any interested parties can utilise the facility on its website.
