Teachers Building Society Two-Year Fixed-Rate Plan introduced

The Teachers Building Society Two-Year Fixed-Rate Plan is among new offerings made by the company today. It comes with a loan to value level of 95 per cent and offers a discount for the opening two years.

Members of the National Union of Teachers (NUT) who have been in their job for a minimum of twelve months will be entitled to a Three-Year Fixed-Rate deal.

Other deals include the Mortgage Guarantor Scheme, which offers parents funds additional to those related to their child's affordability amount – the estimated sum needed for a parent to care for their child.

A 100 per cent Shared Ownership Plan for Teachers is also on offer, which allows a complete mortgage to be taken out on a property inhabited by more than one person.

Teachers' marketing manager Mike Hislop discussed the company's position: "We understand what it is to be a teacher who wants to buy their own home in today's market and believe we have something to help teachers of all levels to achieve that goal."

The Teachers Two-Year Fixed-Rate Plan and other available products are currently available.

Originally set up by the NUT, Teachers Building Society is an independent mutual building society and also provides savings accounts.
