Alliance & Leicester two-year fixed-rate mortgage deal offered

An Alliance & Leicester two-year fixed-rate mortgage deal is available with an interest rate of 4.39 per cent until March 31st 2008.

At this point the interest on the deal will move to the standard variable rate, currently 5.49 per cent, for the remaining duration of the mortgage.

If any or all of the loan taken out is repaid during the initial two-year period an early repayment chare will apply.

The Alliance & Leicester two-year fixed-rate mortgage charges a valuation fee of £280 and an arrangement fee of £499.

Arrangement charges can either be paid in full upfront or added to the value of the loan being taken out.

Alliance & Leicester claims to be the UK's seventh largest bank with around 5.5 million customers.
