Prudential International Prudence Bond to see changes

The year-on-year value of all policies in the Prudential International Prudence Bond is to increase by 12.9 per cent.

This rise comes as a result of a 20 per cent gross return on the investment company's with-profits funds – the finances that underpin all investments in the bond.

Prudential's with-profits fund now stands at a level of £83 billion and the company claims that this make it the largest in the UK – delivering a gross return in 2005 that was 2.3 per cent greater than its nearest competitor.

The company attributes these facts to its "superior investment performance" and its "investment freedom", which allows it to be flexible with the assets on which it focuses its funds.

International director of Prudential International Peter Towers said: "The financial strength of Prudential's with-profits fund has contributed to an outstanding performance and this is seen in the significant increase in year-on-year policy values in 2006."

While the Prudential International Prudence Bond Sterling version will see a rise of 12.9 per cent in policy value, the value of the euro fund will go up by 10.3 per cent and the dollar fund will increase in value by 6.7 per cent.
