Financial Express Adviser Fund Index opened

A Financial Express Adviser Fund Index (AFI) has been introduced today, with the company claiming that it is the UK's first of its kind based entirely on recommendations from financial advisers.

The index comprises a list of investments created by a panel of advisers from various services.

Specialists from AWD Chase de Vere, Chelsea Financial Services and Bestinvest among others were involved in the compilation of the list.

Three divisions make up the index: AFI Aggressive, AFI Balanced and AFI Cautious.

These are relevant depending on the level of investment in which customers are interested.

Financial Express claims that all of these indices have outperformed the equivalent set by the Association of Private Client Investment Managers and Stockbrokers in the last year.

Managing director of Financial Express Craig Wilson described the AFI as a "unique reflection" of the sorts of funds recommended by investment advisers.

He added that the Financial Express Adviser Fund Index "ultimately provides the investment community with a relevant benchmark and flagship for funds".
