Standard Life Investments Long-Lease Property Fund at £400 million

Following the second tranche of the Standard Life Investments Long Lease Property Fund reaching its full investment level, the entire fund has been valued at £400 million.

By October 2004 the scheme had raised £106 million and to date it has generated a total amount of £319 million.

The Standard Life Investments Long-Lease Property Fund is reportedly "aimed at pension funds that are looking for better returns than those currently being offered by bonds, but without the volatility of equities".

It is claimed by the investment company that the fund is a part of its range of "innovative solutions" that are aimed at pension fund clients.

According to the firm, Standard Life Investments controls about 1.8 per cent of the UK stock market and is also one of the largest property investors in Britain.

The investment group is a subsidiary of the Standard Life Assurance Company.
