Skipton 2-Year Fixed-Rate ISA among new offers

Two new savings accounts have been made available today, the Skipton 2-Year Fixed-Rate ISA and 2-Year Fixed-Rate Tax-Exempt Special Savings Account (Tessa) Only ISA (TOISA).

Both of the new deals offer an interest rate of 4.65 per cent gross per year until April 5th 2008 and require a minimum investment of £500 by cheque or transfer.

The maximum investment level on the Skipton 2-Year Fixed-Rate ISA is £3,000, although this can be exceeded if funds are being transferred from another provider.

Skipton's TOISA offer is available to customers whose Tessa with another provider has matured.

The full amount invested in the customer's current deal is the highest possible investment allowed, with no further input of funds permitted.

Jennifer Holloway, head of media relations at Skipton, commented: "Investors can receive one of the market's top rates for ISAs and TOISAs – at 4.65 per cent – and be happy that, should the base rate fall, their money will still be working hard for them."

Withdrawals can be made from the Skipton 2-Year Fixed-Rate ISA and TOISA with 30 days' notice and subject to an operating balance of £500.
