Halifax Two-Year Fixed-Rate Mortgage on offer

The Halifax Two-Year Fixed-Rate Mortgage is currently available, with a rate set at 4.45 per cent until April 30th 2008.

From this point onwards the scheme will revert to the standard variable rate at the time - this is currently 6.5 per cent, product website Mortgage Introducer reports.

An early repayment charge will apply to this mortgage if all or part of it is paid off during the opening 24-month fixed rate period.

A valuation fee of £300 has also been set on the Halifax Two-Year Fixed-Rate Mortgage.

Should customers wish to add the £699 arrangement fee to the entirety of their loan, this option is available.

Halifax, which claims to be the UK's number one mortgage lender, is part of Bank of Scotland and also offers credit cards, personal loans and insurance.
